My name is Annie and I’m a Puerto Rican from the Bronx. I got my start in the dental field 20 years ago for a multi-practice in Manhattan at the Rockefeller Plaza. The front desk is what I do best, verifying insurance benefits, scheduling appointments, billing/account receivable, treatment planning and making sure patients leave with a smile. I am the older of four siblings. I’m a proud mother of a son who serves in the United States Air Force. I moved to Florida with my precious Yorkie Stewie and my dad three years ago. I started working for Dr. Martinez in 2014. Since, I have been enjoying the sun, pool, seafood and the beauty of Florida.
Working in a dental office before she could drive, Cathy is the self-proclaimed oldest practicing dental hygienist! Cathy’s motto is “if you don’t learn something new about dentistry and your oral Health during your visit, I’ve failed as an educator…And I don’t like to fail!” Cathy lives in Plantation with her husband of over 33 years while her grown children live in NYC and Seattle.
My name is Angel and I was born in Caracas, Venezuela. I moved to Florida in 1978. I am the youngest of four siblings and am happily married! I’m also a proud mom of two boys, one with Autism, and two older step-children. Once upon a time, long ago, I was a professional figure skater. I started my dental career in the 90’s, when I went back to school to pursue a second career. I am a certified dental assistant and have been for the last 19 years. I have been working with Dr. Martinez since 2005. My duties as an assistant are, assisting the doctor during all dental procedures, including, but not limited to, making temporary crowns, x-rays, packing cord, sterilization and impressions. When I am not assisting, I work the front desk, responsible for greeting patients with a smile and taking care of their accounts, checking predeterminations, collecting balances and scheduling their next appointments to maintain a bright and healthy smile. When I am not working, I enjoy the beach, catching a movie, traveling and family time!
I come from a small town in Ohio where I worked for a dentist for 28 years prior to moving to Florida. I have enjoyed the last 14 years with Dr. M as her assistant. I have an eclectic taste in books and music and I enjoy watching my garden grow. I take great pride in my 3 children, 5 grandchildren and am so excited for the 6th due on my birthday! I feel that coming from a large family helps me put patients at ease. Especially the younger ones.
